Musings of the Program Director - 2008
by Dr. Ronald Craig

When I look back on the first Cornhusker Canadian Clinical Conference, I never expected these 26 years later, I would still be attending it or that I would be the Program Director. Over those years, we have seen the technology evolve from the first conferences where the pointer was a pool que and the projector was either an overhead or a balky 35mm. The speakers' common attire included jeans and a fish knife hanging from the belt. Since then, we have graduated to all electronic formats with lectures carried on CDs or Flash drives. The jeans and fish knife are still there.

Our lecturers have come from all over the United States to share their special expertise in the field of medicine as well as their love of the outdoors and the beauty of scenic Northwest Manitoba. Loons, bald eagles, moose, black bears and numerous other wildlife share the area with the trophy Walleye, Northern Pike and lake trout.

The core of our Continuing Medical Education lectures is provided by an experienced group of veteran international lecturers supplemented by new guest lecturers each year. Accreditation is through the American Academy of Family Physicians which is acceptable as AMA Cat I equivalent to other organizations.

As far as we know, the Cornhusker Canadian Clinical Conference (CCCC) is the longest running international CME-fishing combination on the North American Continent, maybe the world.

Space is limited, so make plans now to attend this year. See the home page for more information on the accommodations at Wolverine Lodge and transportation to Lynn Lake, MB and the lodge. Contact us at the links provided on the home page or e-mail me directly rcraig@lmep.com

See Ya there!
